The Level 3 Teaching Assistant (TA) programme is ideal for anyone already working as a Teaching Assistant, or looking for a career as a Teaching Assistant.
The Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship builds the knowledge, skills and behaviours to support teachers and improve pupil progress. Blended online learning, tutor visits and off-the-job training cover whole class support, safeguarding and assessment, with optional specialist pathways and progression to HLTA.
The Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of online study, monthly webinars and regular tutor visits, with coursework submitted to an e-portfolio. Learners receive structured teaching, six-weekly reviews and ongoing support, leading to a final End Point Assessment after 15–18 months.

The Level 3 TA (SEND) apprenticeship builds the knowledge, skills and behaviours to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities while strengthening whole-class practice.
The Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3 — SEND Pathway is designed for Teaching Assistants who support learners with additional needs and want to strengthen their specialist skills. Develop strategies for communication, sensory support and inclusive classroom practice that make measurable impact for every child. This apprenticeship is for people who want to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You’ll learn how to give pupils the support, patience and encouragement they need to feel included, valued and able to succeed — whether they’re living with dyslexia, autism, speech and language needs, or challenges around confidence and wellbeing.
