Want to teach? Here are just a few reasons why you should choose the Lead Partner Route from The Alliance of Leading Learning…
All trainees receive a flexible and bespoke timetable which scaffolds their learning and offers substantial mentoring to ensure that lesson planning and delivery is of the highest standard. Trainees have a professional mentor in school, in addition to a subject mentor, who delivers comprehensive sessions which include differentiation, classroom management, starters and plenaries. They also communicate with the university mentor to ensure that the trainee is fulfilling the demands of the academic course.
The Alliance of Leading Learning has a brand new centre for delivering teacher training at The Marches School Hub. Trainees have a suite of rooms which provide access to IT support, wifi, interactive white boards, kitchen and common room facilities.
The trainees receive additional training in the autumn term to assist with job applications and interview techniques. The Alliance of Leading Learning works with a network of schools and can introduce trainees to other schools when vacancies arise. All trainees are added to a database and the co-ordinator keeps in regular contact with trainees to offer support during and after they have completed a placement.
Trainees receive a full induction day at The Marches School Hub so that they are fully aware of all the school procedures and are introduced to the staff prior to commencement of the programme. Many of our trainees are invited into School to observe teaching prior to application. Whilst on placement with The Marches School or with one of our other partner school, trainees have access to stationery, computers, printing and copying facilities.
The Alliance of Leading Learning training centre based at The Marches School Hub offers trainees the very latest technology to practise their skills and the school is well equipped with the most up to date teaching tools.
The Alliance of Leading Learning networks with many different schools across the West Midlands. We have a cluster of 21 primary schools and 10 secondary schools including several independent schools. This large cluster means that we can provide a varied training programme, filling any gaps in the existing school experience that trainees have undertaken. We offer placements from Nursery through to Key Stage 5.
The Alliance of Leading Learning has excellent relationships with HEIs and continues to explore new relationships in order to meet the demands of developing outstanding teachers of the future.
Trainees regularly comment on the strong community presence within the lead school on a day to day basis. The team work with the whole school to provide a valuable experience for trainees ensuring that any development they need can be provided for. Trainees have access to all the professional development that is offered to all staff.
We offer an onsite Wellbeing Mentor to ensure that the ITTs are managing the demands of the course whilst maintaining a healthy body and mind. ITTs have scheduled sessions every half term and adhoc sessions whenever needed. This is one of our strongest USPs. We have been able to ensure that students complete the course and commence a career in education when they have been faced with challenging personal circumstances.
The PGCE carries 60 masters credits spread over three academic assignments.
