Safeguarding training is the perfect way to ensure that your team have the skills that they need in order to be able to provide a service that protects children and young people

Phil Jones (Safeguarding Advisor on behalf of Shropshire Safeguarding Children Network) leads the following sessions from The Marches School or virtually.

He can also provide the training on-site for you.

Raising Awareness in Safeguarding & Protecting Children:

This awareness session will enable participants to explore issues and deepen understanding in respect of signs and symptoms of abuse, dealing with child protection disclosure and SSCB procedures. This training lasts for three years.

New Designated Safeguarding Leads and Designated Safeguarding Leads Updates:

 

The role of the Designated Safeguarding Person was specified in the Children Act 2004 and ensured that every organisation had a “named person” for safeguarding children and young people. Prior to that, the role had frequently been known as the Child Protection Officer. The Designated Safeguarding Person has a responsibility at both a strategic level within the organisation and on a day to day basis.
