The Alliance of Leading Learning is one of the leading providers of Initial Teacher Training in the West Midlands.

The course consists of two placements spread over the year with 130 days school based. There are 4 full weeks of study here at The Marches, three at the beginning of the course and one in the middle of the autumn term. There are 25 days of academic study at the University of Chester spread over the course, currently all online. Fridays are usually either based at The Marches for professional development delivery or with Chester. The course is designed to maximise school based time as this is how we think that students learn best.

We offer a standard primary course and a mix of EYFS with primary. Most of the course is studied together but the foundation subject element for EYFS is delivered by our EYFS partner, The Severn Bridges Trust in Shrewsbury. When searching for the course that you wish to apply to, standard primary carries the code 37L2 and EYFS/Primary is B565.
The course consists of two placements spread over the year with 130 days school based. There are six full weeks of study here at The Marches, three at the beginning of the course and two in the middle. There are 15 days of academic study at the University of Chester, currently delivered online, spread over the course. There are 22 additional Fridays based at The Marches for professional and subject development delivery. The course is designed to maximise school-based time as this is how we think that students learn best.
There are three modules with assignments spread over the year. These carry 60 masters’ credits at level seven. We offer a huge amount of support with the academic study as we recognise that this is in addition to learning to teach. The modules are very well written to link with the teaching part of the course.
Students have timetabled and adhoc confidential sessions with our wellbeing tutor to manage the demands of the programme.
Development of the student’s teaching is bespoke as we recognise that some individuals have more experience than others. It is anticipated that a student will build up to 35% of a usual timetable by the end of the autumn term, 60% by the end of placement 1 and 80% by the end of the course. Students are assessed weekly and given feedback to develop.
At the end of the course, we offer an enrichment period when students can complete additional training to improve their CVs and prepare them for a teaching role. There is also time to resubmit assignments if necessary. We support you at every step to guarantee your successful graduation.
