Get an adviser

If you want to become a teacher or return to teaching in England, a teacher training adviser can guide you through the process with free one-to-one support.

Your adviser will help you with:

  • Getting school experience
  • Funding your course
  • Choosing the right training
  • Writing your personal statement
  • Interview tips

Who can get an adviser?

To sign up for an adviser, you’ll need to have, or be studying for, a bachelor’s degree with honours. If you already have a degree, it needs to be a grade 2:2 or higher (or an equivalent).

If you got your qualifications outside the UK, call us on 0800 389 2500 to check if you’re eligible.

To apply to the Alliance of Leading Learning

Search for providers of the subject that you wish to teach on the Teaching Provider Portal in the area that you wish to train. The Alliance of Leading Learning is based at The Marches School in Oswestry but we currently work with schools across the West Midlands, Mid Wales, Wrexham, Cheshire and Liverpool. We offer a flexible approach to allow students to manage their study alongside their home life. We currently have students applying to us from Liverpool to Hereford and Stoke to Aberystwyth.

Navigate to the bottom of the page and you will see the option to apply.

Once we receive your application, we will email you straight away and offer to meet you on line or face to face to further discuss your application and plan an interview date.

We are currently offering face to face interviews for all applicants but we are happy to adapt the interview process to accommodate your needs and can offer on line interviews if needed.

We will email you an interview guidance booklet with all the information that you need to prepare.

The interview process will typically include:

  • An interview
  • Online audits
  • Preparing a lesson plan and talking the panel through it

You can find lots of guidance and help with the application process on the Get into Teaching website.
