STEP

We are proud that in February 2024 STEP was redesignated as the sole Teaching School Hub for Shropshire and Telford – ensuring confidence that experienced, local experts are delivering a one-stop service for our Trusts, schools and education communities. 

STEP continues to work in strong partnership with our local schools to support Initial Teacher Training, deliver the new Early Career Framework for new Teachers and their mentors, act as an appropriate body under the new statutory changes, and offer the new suite of National Professional Qualifications for leaders, as well as developing and signposting research informed CPD to meet local needs.

Since 2021 STEP has worked with 180 local schools and trained 274 new teachers, 597 leaders on the National Professional Qualifications.  Furthermore, they have supported 575 ECTs and 461 mentors with the Early Careers Framework and provided additional CPD to 331 delegates

The Alliance of Leading Learning continues to have a crucial role in the activities of STEP, ensuring confidence that experienced, local experts are delivering a one-stop service for schools in the Shropshire and Telford area.
