Professional Learning Conference set to be the biggest and best yet
The Alliance of Leading Learning, part of the Marches Academy Trust, will host its Professional Learning Conference on Monday 25th February 2019. It is set to be the biggest and best yet, with a new venue confirmed.
The inspiration for the conference came from the Chartered College of Teaching’s journal “IMPACT” covering new cutting-edge research on Neuroscience. For our 2019 conference, we are privileged to have secured the main lead in the UK for Neuroscience and education – Paul Howard Jones.
The professional learning conference, which takes place at the Telford International Centre, will look at how we ensure every student can access quality learning and cope with the demands of a wide-ranging and challenging curriculum.
Former Crystal Palace, Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright headlines and will bring radiance plus his electric personality to the conference. He also brings a wealth of experience as an after dinner speaker and a Match of the Day pundit. Ian Wright is famed in the educational world from a video where he sees his former teacher for the first time in a number of years and is overcome with emotion from one of his first male role models in life, and a man who Wright credited with directing him in the way of a successful career in football.
Writer, broadcaster and former barrister Afua Hirsch will host a keynote session and a workshop where she will speak about her experiences of being the Social Affairs and Educational Editor for Sky News from 2014 to 2017, as well as being a journalist for The Guardian newspaper.
Afternoon workshop facilitators will include Sir Mark Grundy, a personalised learning specialist who was knighted for his work at George Salter High School in West Bromwich and his work in ICT, as well as Matthew Burton, the Headteacher of Thornhill Academy and star of ITV’s Educating Yorkshire.
