Allowing young people (Years 5 to 8 – Currently) to discover their leadership skills and their true potential in education, work, life and community.

Graduates from The Leadership Academy will leave with

The Leadership Academy Programme:

We will provide a unique learning experience, which gives our young people the skills and confidence to lead and manage in a variety of settings and situations. Focusing on service, teamwork, ambition and respect, our Leadership initiatives promote maturity, commitment and teamwork and enable our young people to experience what it is like to stand up and take the lead.

Our programme is divided into three key areas:


We promote leadership in the broadest sense. We are committed to developing confident individuals who are leaders at home, amongst their peers and friendship groups, their community and, later on, in the workplace.

  1. Confident Communicators
  2. Team development
  3. Innovation
  4. Social and moral responsibility

Sport & Health

Through our Academy’s sports programmes, our young people will develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication, and teamwork, as well as helping to build confidence and self-esteem as they take on responsibility of leading their peers and younger children.
The Young Leader Award: In partnership with the SLQ and Sports Leaders UK

  1. Orienteering
  2. Archery
  3. Fencing
  4. New Age Curler

Expressive Arts

Arts, media and multimedia.

The Arts offer gives pupils the opportunity to:

  • Discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in any art form
  • Experience a range of cultural activities
  • Develop their creativity and leadership skills

4 workshops -1 each day

  1. Construction Challenge (Teamwork)
  2. Graphic Communication and Media (Skills of communication)
  3. Cultural Sculpting (Cultural Diversity Awareness)
  4. Art and Social Awareness (Ethical and moral citizenship)


Each day lasts from 8am to 4pm.  Students must attend all day /every day to gain the full benefits of this fantastic opportunity.
