Sarah is the CEO of the Marches Academy Trust and the Alliance of Leading Learning. She is the Chair of the Executive Management Board for the alliance and the Chair of Shropshire Headteachers’ Group. She is a National Leader in Education and The Marches is a National Support School – supporting large numbers of practitioners and leaders across all age phases from maintained schools, academies and the independent sector. In her role as a National Leader of Education she has supported Sir John Talbot’s School since April 2012. Sir John Talbot’s School is now part of the Academy Trust and is rated Good by Ofsted.

For the last 5 years, The Marches has been the lead school under the licence secured by The Leadership Academy at Edge Hill University and has established an excellent reputation for delivering professional learning to leaders at all levels. Sarah is an advanced facilitator and source of expertise and consultancy for the design and delivery of the NPQH.

Sarah was on the National College for Teaching and Leadership Fellowship Programme in 2013 – developing education policy and recommendations for ministers for the changes to recruitment of teachers, development of teacher training in schools and professional development opportunities that retains people in the profession. She successfully led the school to be awarded Teaching School status in 2016. Since 2016 Sarah has been the driving force behind the new and innovative “Festival of Education” – bringing together experts from across the education sector in motivational CPD.

Sarah believes in outward facing and visionary leadership and she is intent on the Alliance of Leading Learning achieving its vision to embrace the school led system; working closely with lead partners, to provide gold standard professional learning and school improvement projects nationally and internationally.
