Julia joined Cognition as Commercial Director for the EMEA region in February 2017. Julia is an experienced senior education consultant and project manager with extensive experience of managing and delivering a wide range of education projects.
Julia has worked in the education and skills sector for over 15 years, holding senior posts in a number of consultancy firms including KPMG and PwC. During this time, she led on various high profile, complex projects including World Class Skills (a multi-million pound, major change programme for the FE sector); developing business plans which achieved ministerial approval for the launch of a number of National Skills Academies; Employer Ownership of Skills and development of higher level apprenticeships; 14-19 Strategic Option Reviews; and a number of mergers of educational institutions.
As a practising executive coach, Julia continues to provide coaching to senior leaders and boards in the private and public sector, including with colleges and schools. She most recently provided coaching to the SLT of Manchester College Group and Zurich International School.
Julia developed a leadership programme for the then chair of KPMG, Sir Mike Rake, aimed at supporting women into leadership positions. This programme was shortlisted for a CIPD award and continues to be used internally in KPMG.
Julia has particular experience in supporting policy development and implementation and providing organisational design and change management support, including leadership and team development, in the public and private sector.
